“Make it pop.” It’s a phrase any designer has likely heard at one time or another. You could imagine how pleased we were when at last we had the opportunity to redeem this cliché and get a chance to finally create designs that POP. We have our client, Daisy Cakes Cake Pops, to thank for that...
Daisy Cakes is in the business of creating seasonal and innovative cake pops for all occasions. In 2011, Daisy Cakes founder Amy Mucha was given a copy of Angie Dudley’s Cake Pops book simply because it contained instructions to make a koala cake pop (Amy’s favorite animal). The koala cake pops were the starting point of making cake pops for friends and family for fun. Three children and five years later, Amy’s cake pop book came off the shelf after she didn’t exactly nail a Pinterest-inspired Thanksgiving treat she’d made for her students, Amy decided to try to redeem herself by making turkey cake pops (note: NOT turkey-flavored cake pops—cake pops that looked like adorable turkeys), and they were received so positively that some friends suggested she sell them. And so Daisy Cakes came to be!
Our new branding Daisy Cakes takes inspiration from the fun and quirkiness of the cake pops. Literal pops and sprinkles of color adorn the brand materials we created including business cards, a website, and signage for the Pop Cycle, Daisy Cakes’s storefront on wheels!
As Daisy Cakes continues to grow (13,392 pops sold last year!) and make more pop-up appearances across Northeast Ohio (catch them at the Cleveland Flea!), we are excited to continue our collaboration to support them in their sweet success.
We bring out the fun of this business and their products and get a chance to create a brand that really, actually, FINALLY pops.
