Katie Rispoli Keaotamai: Back in 2017, I received an email from Each + Every about a community-based project I had completed in Long Beach, CA. He was interested in bringing that project to Kent, and asked if I could help him do it. Unfortunately, I felt like I didn’t have the knowledge of the community needed to do it myself from a distance. When I started thinking of who could help him, I realized I needed a very specific type of architect, historic preservationist, planner, and general contractor—and I wasn’t sure how I was going to find them.
This experience inspired me to come up with the idea for an online community where professionals could meet their peers and sort through a vetted database of fellow practitioners in a range of professions who are using their talents to shape better cities and communities. From there, I contacted a few dozen of my colleagues to run the idea by them and get their input... and they helped shape Ticco into what it is today.
KRK: I love that the default Ticco graphic is an organic-looking shape. Really, that’s what all Ticco members do—they shape cities and communities. The natural, flexible shape that you see on Ticco’s materials embodies the spirit of our members and the fluid nature of our platform that connects people from a wide range of backgrounds.
KRK: The team at Each + Every was intentional throughout the course of branding Ticco. They really did their homework, got to know our market, showed passion for our cause, and carried it all forward with research and design that embodied that approach.
KRK: Throughout the branding process, I worked with the Each + Every team to identify the qualities which we felt personified the Ticco brand. With knowledge of the professionals we serve and the ability for those we’re contacting to understand our persona, I encouraged the team to consider future implementations of the brand and use them to shape the branding process.
KRK: I hope Ticco becomes a place where forward-thinking individuals can lay a foundation for their successful careers. By bringing together individuals who share a passion, I believe Ticco has the potential to embody the spirit of multiple generations and enhance their dedication to improving cities for people.
